Considering that I live in a remote part of North Yorkshire,
bordering on Lancashire and Cumbria,
I find it amazing that I have, in the past 2 years,
had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie Hunter (in Germany),
And today, the very entertaining Ricky Tims.
I very much enjoyed Ricky's talk on Caveman Quilting:
Baby-Kalico enjoyed the bright colours
and gorgeous swirly quilting ;)
She even got an affectonate greeting...

Well... Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of snow in Oldham today
and when we parked in the parking lot
there was lots of slippy wet slushy snow...
I bought my parking voucher
and when I went to put it in the window it blew away...
So I went to chase it and unfortunately I went flying...
I basically skidded on my stomach across the slush,
grazed my hands and fingers, bruised my knees
and to stop myself skidding into a parked car,
I flipped myself over and sat on my bum
and so ended up with very wet trousers, shirt and coat :(
Never mind, it didn't dampen my spirits,
nor the beauty of Ricky's stunning quilts...

Ouch!! That hand looks painful! So sorry about your accident, but what a wonderful time it appears you were able to have in spite of it. (Glad you didn't have a wee one in your arms when you went down.)

Ouch..your hand looks so sore...you didn't say if you caught your parking ticket or not...hope the injuries were not in vain.
You've really rubbed shoulders with some big names...bet Ricky was a great speaker....hope he enjoyed the snow too :-)
Great photos (except the ouchy one :-( hope it heals quickly). I didn't realize his rhapsody quilt was so large! So glad you were able to do this. And we are getting that slush snow today, about 6" so far. Yikes, where are my tulips??
You really get yourself into some spots don't you! Glad you enjoyed the talks...his quilts are beautiful and he always makes his presentations memorable!
Oh what a day! I do hope you recover from your parking lot injuries without too much trouble...big ouch. That Ricky Tims is absolutely the nicest guy and just as talented as you would expect. I enjoyed sharing conversation over lunch with Ricky, while at the 2008 Road to CA Convention. He just wandered over to our table and asked if he could join the three of us - three very stunned quilters said sure thing, pull up a chair! What fun.
