Buttons, Butterflies & Baby Hedgehogs

I love buttons, I am always on the lookout for buttons and when I saw these being sold by one of my favourite charities at the Street Market on Saturday, I had to snap them up: all three jars of them! I have thrown them in a small cake tin - I never bake small cakes LOL so at least now the tin is being used :-)

Our new 'Buddleia' or 'Butterfly Bush' is in bloom and it, along with some of my other new plants, has attracted some lovely butterflies:

(Not sure what this plant is called, but it's right next to the Buddleia so benefits from the butterfly visitors too.)

And our garden is home to other creatures too. A little hedgehog can be seen late in the afternoon/early evening walking around looking for food...

here he/she is in the potato plants...

I hope to be able to get around to some actual quilty sewing this week as I have been doing more custom sewing of late. Although I do have a repair and a few small custom orders to get done before I can work on my baby quilt, I'll hopefully have a burst of energy (or a big coffee!) and get those out the way quickly!

Getting a bit behind!

The last few days of wonderful post have reminded me that I should be blogging!
Look at this!!!!!

It's beautiful and came as a surprise with some books I bought from Kate (Thank you so much Kate)

And this!!!

DS1 was pleased to pose with this beautiful rose (and a star too!) fabric

And buttons (How did you know I need buttons!)

From Anne (Thank you very much Anne) BTW those are DS2's trousers, but were handy when we needed a quick change, I kept telling Jack that he looked like JoJo (from JoJo's circus) - he thought it was pretty funny LOL

Since I last blogged I've had beautiful patterns from Patti and Cathi. And I also received my "Home Shopping" from Toni. Thank you to these lovely bloggers - sorry no photos of my loot as it's all been packed ready for my trip home...

Now back to the grindstone LOL - I am making some goodies for a Christmas market - more of that later... Oh and Nicolette tagged me for a great Meme, but I have yet to get to it (soon, I hope!)

She did good

Many thanks to my DSIL who brought me this wondeful parcel back from her holiday in Canada.
It included a quilting magazine that I have already read briefly (as soon as she handed the loot over, I had to have a good look at it!), I can't wait to read it again and again as it has some lovely bag patterns that I will have to make time to do! Some freezer paper, some Misty fuse, three cool FQ's. I think she did very well for a non-quilter. I asked for brown or stars, so brown stars are even better! The 3rd FQ was an impulse buy on her part. I was impressed that she had a fabric impulse LOL. Perhaps one day she'll quilt too :o) And a bag of buttons. Love these, they are great. Thank you so much Jane. I really have been spoilt lately, makes up for all the sewing I'm not managing to do.

BTW Here's the cake I made...

I believe it's all gone now
