Wordy Wednesday

Instead of muttering about my bad blogging,
I will just write a photo-heavy post
to give a small indication of what I have been up to....

I have been making things
for the Church Christmas fair with a friend
(who is now sick of pom-poms!!)

*****
I have longarm-quilted an old lady's quilt,
that needed quite a bit of TLC to even get it on the machine...
But it has turned out beautifully.

*****
Miss Kalico has turned 4!
A cake for home:

Some lovely gifts from friends...

And a cake for the party!

*****
I made a little something for a colleague
who loves Lavender...

The Bullion stitch addiction continues
though not as relentlessly as before ;)

*****
I have made my ornament for the SSCS15...

This one took 2 evenings
and was a lot trickier than I imagined,
but hopefully it will be well received.

******
And I am working on a few secret projects.
This one involves top levels of investigation
in order to correctly tailor the concept to the recipient.
So I am sewing although nothing for me.
I had grand plans to make Miss-Kalico and I
Halloween costumes, but I ran out of time :(
A friend gave me a Halloween costume
in a rather tiny size. Although I was flattered,
I preferred to leave certain curves and bulges to people's imagination ;o)

Anyway, I will try and blog more soon xx

Going AWOL

I don't mean to keep forgetting about my poor blog,
but I am always so easily distracted..

I saw these embroidered hearts on the internet
and just got hooked making them...
I love sending a Christmas decoration with my cards
to friends in faraway places -
so I have a bit of a head start here LOL

Then dolly needed a dress to match Miss Kalico...

With matching buttons on the back...
She even has shorts to match,
but that photo is on my tablet.

And while I still had some of the 'matching' fabric left...
Miss Kalico got a new sunhat...
So I am not sitting idly resting my leg...
I'm actually too busy to blog ;o)

Little Things

I'm always busy
(or easily distracted),
this time experimenting with teeny stockings...

One could pop something even teenier in them...

Other small things on the go are these cakes
I made for Little Miss Kalico.
She loves tea parties....
Tea & cake!

My mother sent the boys some crafty things for their birthdays.
It kept them all quiet for a few minutes ;)

And I have finally finished quilting
my super-size 'Jared takes a Wife' quilt...

almost had too little batting...
Phew! Only almost!!!

Christmas Wreath

My first ever home-made Christmas wreath!

I dried the oranges in the oven
and made the wreath using branches
(with cones growing on them)
from some trees on the farm.

It has no oasis, no frame, no wire....
It's being held together by ribbons,
love and hope :)

Tomorrow I'll hang it out,
in the meantime I'm off to sew!

SSCS Gifts Sent

Here is the SSCS gift I made for Janice in Australia...
A folded hexagon bag with every single stitch hand sewn.
I do love my hand sewing!
I attached the handles with ribbon and buttons (also by hand!)

And here is the decoration I made Janice:
A felt heart with buttons hand sewn on ;)

Thank you to Chookyblue for organising the
