I confess... I did lose my blogging and quilting mojo a bit...
last year....
even as I write this I am yearning for my bed :(
This is not like me at all.
It's like the last year of grief and action
has suddenly caught up with me and I am tired.
So so tired...

Usually people ask how I manage to do so much
and I usually scoff that anyone thinks I am managing much at all,
but who knew that 3 children especially a certain lovely
(yet boundlessly energetic and incredibly demanding) 4 year old
would eat into my sewing time so much LOL.

Anyway, a new year looms
and unfinished projects call,
as well as new ones begging to be started!!
(A colleague's birthday cake I made this week - it had smarties inside!)
Ideally, I would like to get my house and sewing studio
super tidy and organised and then I could sew guilt free
(while the washing, cleaning and cooking sorted itself out!!)

The holidays are over and it's back to work!
My nephew and his girlfriend stayed with us for a few days
so we crammed a bit of action into his visit
including a trip to the local cheese factory,
a visit to Bolton Abbey....
and a brief walk to the waterfall: Gordale Scar:
then they went off to to the Forest of Dean
where they got engaged!!!!
Clearly DH and I did not sufficiently put them off the idea of marriage LOL!
Anyway, I think that sums up me, for now.
No mega New Year's resolutions,
just an attempt to keep my chin up and my fingers full of fabric

I lost my Dad in June last year and I am supporting 80 year old Mum as well as looking after my 2 year old grandson full time and just at the moment I have very little interest in blogging & crafting so I can empathize.

And the birthday cake looks like a chocolate lover's dream!!
Before you know it that 4 year old won't be underfoot and you will be missing those times.

Happy New Year to you and yours, as well. Glad to hear you are plugging away at it all. Family and housework will always interfere with the things we would rather do (even when you are 69 !) but somehow we usually find a way to manage. Life will not be the same, but a new 'normal' eventually settles into place. In the meantime, just take care of yourself and the rest will follow.
I have three kids very close in age so I know full well that there is not a lot of time for sewing in peace! But they do grow up and you get more time. I love coming by your blog because you are basically living my life! Not that I am not happy here where I am but I was born in Yorkshire and I have always wanted to live there again....in the country! I hope this year brings you some happiness and fills your world with wonderful memories.....and sees your mojo returned too!
